An original oil portrait is painted
in full color on linen canvas or masonite board depending on
the texture of the paint requested.
At the time of commission the client and
I discuss ideas about how they want themselves or their loved
ones portrayed. We talk about the interests of the subjects to
decide if a hobby, activity or a special environment should be
included. The mood and tone is decided. Clothing, setting, colors,
size and anything else of importance is also discussed. If possible
I want to get a chance to know the person that I am painting.
After all, I will be spending alot of time thinking about them
and working with their image.
At the time of commission I require 50%
deposit. Painting takes approximately 2 to 6 months to complete.
When the portrait is complete, the client and I discuss the result.
If there is any special request for changes, they will be made.
The remainder of the fee is paid when the client takes the painting
home. It is very important to me that the client should be happy
with their painting.
