About the Artist
Nancy Tilles is an award winning fine artist and portraitist. She is known for her beautiful representational paintings of living things. Her oil paintings have been compared to photographs in their attention to detail and enhanced accuracy of color but they are not photographic at all. Instead, they could be called a kind of painterly realism. Her portraits of people and animals are rich in color and each painting tells a story about the subject's life.
Nancy's work has appeared publicly numerous times. Her underwater series entitled "Sea eScape" was recently purchased by the City of Sunny Isles in Miami Beach. Other publicly commissioned work includes The Wild Things by The Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County and The Bus Bench project by The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Center.
Nancy has exhibited her work several times at
PB International Airport and in the Village of Wellington's Art in Public Places. Her paintings are on display at Alligator Art in Wellington. She has displayed her work at many festivals and shows including Artigras, Sunfest, Wellington Art Festival and Jupiter Art Fest by the Sea, to name a few.
Her work has been published multiple times and her painting "Sheer Determination" was chosen as the cover of "Palms West Almanac" Magazine 2004. She is presently licensing many of her images to be used on various products.
The River of Grass Artists' Retreat, located in Palm Beach Gardens, is Nancy's new home/studio where she is working on commissions and offering classes to adults looking for a special place to be creative in a beautiful natural setting.
